I received my BS at Boise State University in Criminal Justice Administration, MA in Criminal Justice from Arizona State University and a Masters in Social Work from Northwest Nazarene University (NNU). I did a dual concentration at NNU in Clinical Mental Health and Addictions. I have specialized training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and in Sexual Behaviors, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) for PTSD, trauma, depression, anxiety, Primary Care Behavioral Health Model (using Focused Acceptance Commitment Therapy), and extensive training in Play Therapy. I have experience in assessing and treating substance abuse disorders. My specialty is working with individuals who have experienced a traumatic event(s) or abuse. When working with children I do incorporate play therapy and EMDR techniques that are appropriate to their developmental age/stage they are in. I am bicultural/bilingual in English and Spanish. I provide psychotherapy and Behavioral Health Consultations for medical providers at Shoshone Family Medical Center.
