July 9, 2021 @ 10:15 am - 12:00 pm MDT

Denise Jensen, LMSW & Megan Gomeza, MSW
Approximately 6% of patients who have surgery report continued use of opioids one year post surgery. Learn how the rEASON planning grant is building capacity in rural Idaho to reduce the use of opioids during and after surgery through educating patients on opioid alternatives to pain management in the primary care setting.
Learning Objectives:
- Attendees will increase understanding of the impact of opioid use during surgery
- Attendees will learn about emerging strategies to address opiate dependence resulting from surgery
- Attendees will lean how they can leverage existing and developing resources in their own practice
