Integrated Behavioral Health Strategies for Latinx Population in Primary Care

This workshop will present information from Behavioral Health Consultants who are currently providing integrated behavioral health services in different primary care clinics, who are Bicultural. Presentation will include brief overview of the history and demographics of Latinx population in Idaho, identify persistent challenges faced by the Latinx community when accessing and receiving care. Presenters will provide considerations and key factors for working with Latinx population, as well as recommendations and interventions related to the delivery of integrated behavioral health services in the primary care setting.
Learning Objectives:
- Participants will understand perspectives from Behavioral Health Consultants who work with the Latino population in a primary care setting
- Participants will understand the Behavioral Health Consultants perspective on challenges Latinos faces in accessing care
- Participants will understand the importance of cultural competence and examples of practical behavioral health interventions in working with the Latino population.
