Addressing Workforce Shortages in Central Oregon

The Central Oregon Behavioral Health Consortium (COBHC) is a program designed to address the lack of mental health professionals in Central Oregon. By collaborating with healthcare providers and community members, COBHC has developed a unique approach to train and retain behavioral health professionals in the region. Their strategies include paid apprenticeships for students, training that emphasizes cultural competency, and a focus on expanding the network of supervisors to support new clinicians.
